Tired

We use the word ‘tired’ to describe like 100 different internal states.

Let’s say, like two of my friends recently, you want to be going out more in the evenings to socialise and meet new people—but you’re too ‘tired’ after work.

First step is to tune into what you’re needing.

If, like one of them, you’ve been socialising all day at work, your ‘tiredness’ might be a need for peace and quiet. And so a one-off social evening might not be the end of the world but long term you’ll screw yourself over. Set aside guilt-free relax evenings to recharge, and a couple of socialising ones when you can.

Whereas if you’re like the other friend, who’s been sitting mindlessly at a desk job all day, the ‘tired’ might be a totally different one—it’s probably a need for movement, connection etc. In that case going for a run, complimenting people on the street, etc may magically ‘wake you up’ in a way that it wouldn’t for someone else.
