I’m wondering what would happen if I had a totally low friction way to document everything that’s happening inside me as I realise it.
- Help with staying conscious (present-moment awareness)
- Get stuff documented and therefore out of my brain
Any time I notice I have a thought or feeling or whatever inside me, a frictionless way to get that thought stored outside of me.
(Thinking ahead: why would it need to be limited to times when I notice that the thought or feeling is there 😉)
In the short term, I’m picturing a one-click button I can press on my phone that records my voice, transcribes it, and adds it to some repository of these snippets—either appends it to a daily journalling/thoughts/feelings page on this site, or stores each one atomically and indexes them for searching / categorising, or something?
That final point is a separate but related one: how can we have a repository of discrete thoughts that are somehow linked / perusable / navigable. Related: Zettelkasten.
And then connect the dots between different people’s discrete thoughts?? Ooft, now we’re getting somewhere…
I think this could be really powerful. I also think technology/AI is pretty capable of facilitating this now.
