Aerosol sunscreen

I used to use the spray or the lotion sunscreen. I think I vaguely knew about the continuous spray ones but I’d heard they didn’t work well, or for whatever other reason had never really considered using it.

But oh my goodness, what a game changer. It’s fantastic and saves so much time. Especially for areas with body hair, where rubbing the lotion in is tricky. The continuous spray just sprays everywhere easily! Covering the whole body takes less than 30 seconds, instead of the several minutes it used to take to be confident you’d sprayed everywhere.

Some sprays are better than others. The Sea & Ski one I buy in Barbados is my favourite (it’s Floridian, I think). Incidentally they also make a great Aloe Vera aftersun. I find that the sprays I buy in the UK (e.g. Boots Soltan) have a subtly different nozzle that sprays more narrowly, so it’s harder to get coverage from a quick spray, resulting in patches that burn. Probably works better if you rub it in after spraying—I love that the Sea & Ski one seems to cover well even when you don’t rub it in.

I vaguely understand that there’s something about aerosols that makes them bad for the environment? I’ve never researched this.
